Waxing Moon in Scorpio

The Moon today focuses feeling and memory on Mars and Venus in Scorpio. She reaches conjunction with Venus at 1:35pm EDT, and with Mars at 8:06pm. The influence of Libra is still present, as the Moon is now semisextile with Mercury and the Sun maintain a semisextile with Mars.

Think of this as a time to examine the soil in which your New Moon wishes will grow. How do our beliefs and expectations, often hidden, affect our relationships and our creativity? Where do we hold on to anger and resentments that wind up poisoning us, rather than leading to productive change?

Ancestors Altar
Astrologer Linda Hill felt the Venus retrograde was so important, she wrote about it instead of the New Moon. Although, she writes, a Venus retrograde time can leave us feeling lost in the wilderness, the Sabian symbol offers a clue to what we can gain: Telephone lineman at work installing new connections. We can dive deeply into our past and our patterns, figure out how things have been for us, and create new ways of thinking and acting that serve us better.

Venus will remain retrograde through Samhain, also a time of connection. What we begin today can prepare the ground for the time of the ancestors, the time when the veil between the worlds is thin. Personal work with Venus and Mars in Scorpio now, supported by today's Moon, can help us step into Samhain's mysteries and connect with our power in new ways. Our New Moon wishes have been entrusted to the cosmos. In this waxing cycle, we prepare ourselves to receive her gifts.
