I closed the sale of my home Tuesday; movers packed my things yesterday; I drove to my new town last night; I took possession of my new apartment this morning and write to you from a local wifi cafe! Moon into Gemini: What Needs to be Said?

The Moon jumped into Gemini early this morning, ready to make new connections. During this Moon transit, we remember Gemini is a trickster, the spirit of Coyote as well as butterfly, the one whose unexpected messages startle us into a new perspective.

The Gemini Moon squared Neptune in Pisces this morning, leaving me (and you perhaps) with morning dreams full of odd images and bright colors. Gemini and Pisces are mutable signs, flexible and transitional, so their squares look less like a boxing match and more like a dance.

In a few hours, Mars in Gemini will square Chiron in Pisces. Perhaps the Moon-Neptune connection brought dreams of healing, that Mars and Chiron will now act on. Or perhaps today we'll work out innovative ways to move into our own paths of healing and mentorship.

Just after noon, the Moon flows energy in sextile with radical Uranus in Aries. What these two will get up to, is anyone's guess! Gemini is a canny communicator, while Uranus in Aries goes straight to the point. This afternoon's combination could lead to finding the right, light touch for communicating a difficult message, or blurting out a devastating but liberating truth.

This transit through Gemini brings more than mere words, as the Moon joins Mars this afternoon. This is a reminder that speech is also action, and what we say, or what we don't say, has consequences. It's also an invitation to lightness, humor, and fun. Perhaps a holy fool or a jester will arrive.

Just after midnight, the Gemini Moon trines Saturn in Libra. This could be a meeting of the muses, a flow of creative ideas and images. You might find yourself burning the midnight oil, magical words flowing from your fingers, or exploring a night of amazing dreams offering guidance.

Wednesday, Gemini Mars forms an inconjunct angle-of-adjustment to Pluto in Capricorn, asking for a lighter, brighter touch to Pluto's relentless progress. Pluto says the only way to get past some things is to go right through them, but today, Gemini Mars might find a trap door or secret gate to get around.

Overnight Wednesday, the Moon joins the South Node and opposes the North, offering dream messages about our life path. Early Thursday morning (3:32am EDT), the Moon joins Venus in Gemini, touching our morning dreams with more creative inspiration and beautiful images. In the early hours of the morning, the Moon moved into bright, flaming Aries. Today our emotional selves feel ready to take on the world, blazing new trails, reaching confidently for our goals.

We're in the waning cycle, sharing our light with the world, and this morning reached the Waning Half Moon, a square between the Moon and Sun. At this time, we see more clearly what we've accomplished in this cycle, and are challenged to integrate and assimilate it.

Today's Half Moon offers a counterpoint, a reflection, a reminder of how we each hold the other within us. The emotional, receptive Moon is in the fiery, direct sign of Aries. The outgoing, active Sun is in the nurturing, yin sign of Cancer. Do these qualities cancel each other out, leaving our luminaries weak? Or are we strengthened by holding all qualities together in creative synthesis? Our choice!

The Moon swims into Pisces today (4:45pm EDT), creating a mood of reflection, intuition, spiritual connection, and possibly vague fuzziness as well. The Moon's first move in Pisces will be to join Neptune, ruler of Pisces, enhancing and deepening all Piscean qualities.

We're in the time of the Summer Solstice, as the Sun stands still (the meaning of sol-stice) for about three days at its highest point in the sky. In the Northern hemisphere, this is the longest day, the time when the Sun reaches maximum exposure and intensity.

So it's interesting to reflect that this year's Solstice happens with the Moon in a Water sign, and note that the Solstice reaches its peak when the Sun moves into Cancer, Water sign and home of the Moon. Perhaps we're being reminded of the vital importance of water during the heat of summer, and of the need to balance Water's elemental receptivity and responsiveness with the direct action of Fire and Sun.

The Pisces Moon enhances dreams and visions. Tonight, Mars enters Gemini, and the Moon flows energy in sextile with Jupiter in Taurus. Watch for dreams that bring messages about what actions need to be taken, about practical matters of nurturing and generosity, or about the Earth itself.

Tuesday afternoon and evening bring challenges as Mercury squares Saturn, the Moon squares Venus, and Mars squares Neptune. Moon into Aquarius: Charting a Course

The Moon moved into visionary Aquarius early this morning, after a few days in hardworking Capricorn.

My life is filled with Capricornian things these days, so although I missed my blog entry, Capricorn did not miss me. In the last two days, I've had two situations come up at my house, each requiring repairs right away, that I needed to pay for. Taking responsibility and getting things done: that's Capricorn!

But now we're in more cerebral territory, able to see the landscape ahead and plan accordingly. Today's Moon transits are not all easy ones, so keeping an eye on long-term goals can be helpful.

Early this afternoon, the Moon squares Jupiter in Taurus, fixed Air and fixed Earth challenging each other. These two can be stubborn, so if ideas and reality both seem immovable today, the answer will be to find a way to honor both and reach a dynamic balance.

Later this afternoon, the Moon flows energy in sextile with Uranus in Aries, at about the same time Mercury in Cancer squares Uranus in Aries. This will be an interesting combination, as the Moon, moving more quickly, triggers the other two.

Uranus in Aries is the drive to act, and especially, act for change. Mercury is likewise changeable, but in Cancer, speaks from the heart and on behalf of traditional values. With this square following the Moon-Jupiter square, today's landscape might seem full of difficult terrain, big rocks, and places where we need to retrace our steps and find a new way around.

The Aquarius Moon is confident there is a way, though, and it lies ahead. We're still in the early days after the glorious Full Moon, and our steps are illuminated by that light.

The early hours of Sunday offer easier aspects, a flowing trine between the Moon and Saturn in Libra (great energy for planning), and then a trine between the Moon and Venus in Gemini. You might wake up Sunday morning with your head filled with creative ideas; be sure to write them down. There's also a trine at this time between Mercury in Cancer and Chiron in Pisces, so the early morning dream inspiration could include ideas on healing, on mentoring, and on becoming our authentic selves.

Sunday afternoon, Mercury in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn. Mercury, moving far more swiftly than Pluto, might trigger anxieties about the many transformations happening around us these days. If this happens, find something that brings comfort. On the other hand, Mercury the networker could show us exactly which traditions need to be brought forward into the future, so listen for messages.

Monday afternoon brings a trine between the Moon and Sun, Aquarius and Gemini, a time of understanding and insight. Which is good, because it's followed by a square between the Moon and Mars in Taurus, another feeling of wanting to move ahead but either being blocked, or needing to move slowly.

The Moon-Mars square is the Moon's last aspect in Aquarius, and after a brief void-of-course time, she swims into Pisces at 4:45pm. These days of the Aquarius Moon, we're looking ahead, but also needed to navigate currents that may seem to hold us back. Paying attention to each step should get us through to open water.

Moon into Sagittarius: Expanding Our Vision

The Moon steps into Sagittarius at 10:38pm EDT tonight, lighting up with the enthusiasm of life as a journey, ready to explore, learn, and philosophize.

Overnight, the Moon squares Neptune (12:09am EDT) and trines Uranus (5:53am EDT Tuesday), suggesting a night of strong dreams filled with intuitive messages. Neptune guides us into the flow of dreams and visions, while Uranus sparks our understanding with flashes of insight.

We're now heading for the Full Moon in Sagittarius, happening at 4:14pm EDT with a total Lunar Eclipse. This Full Moon Eclipse is aligned with the Nodes of the Moon (as is always the case at an eclipse), and with center point of our spiraling galaxy.

The arrow in this case flies from Gemini to Sagittarius, from the playfulness of youth to the joy of the sage, from bright distractibility to the deep desire to learn.

But Gemini is not just about being ADHD. Moon into Scorpio: Rolling in the Deep

At 8:33pm EDT, the Moon steps quietly into Scorpio's realm of secrets and shadows. The Moon in this sign is insightful and intuitive, and can also be wary and manipulative, feeling a deep need to understand what's been hidden, and maybe try to control it. Emotions run deep, and can be hard to shift.

The Moon's first aspects in the transit through Scorpio are with powerful outer planets, opening the door for big dreams tonight. First, a flowing trine with Neptune creates a channel for dreams and visions.

Then, an opposition with Jupiter in Taurus brings the calm solidity of the manifest world (Taurus) in touch with the mysteries of the hidden (Scorpio). Early Sunday morning, the Moon connects with alchemical Pluto in a flowing sextile, reminding us that fundamental transformations are in process.

The Scorpio Moon continues on her solitary way Sunday, with the evening bringing action in the realm of Air. The Sun and Mercury will meet in bring Gemini, energizing communication. Venus in Gemini will sextile Uranus in Aries, connecting the power of revolutionary change to the planet of creativity, finance and relationships. Then Saturn (finally!) stations direct, ending his long retrograde motion in Libra, and turning to move forward again.

If you've been feeling blocked in areas of thought, communication, planning, or just getting on with things, this combination of events on Sunday night could get things moving again. We may all feel new stirrings of the breeze, as wind fills our sails. During this time, the Scorpio Moon maintains a keen awareness of what moves beneath the surface as well.

Monday afternoon brings the Moon's last classical aspect in Scorpio, an opposition with Mars in Taurus. As with the opposition to Jupiter early in this transit, we're asked to balance manifest reality with what cannot be sensed directly. Coming at the end of the Moon's time in Scorpio, and the freshening breeze of new ideas from yesterday's Air events, Mars is challenging us to make it real. What are we growing now, as we head toward the Full Moon?

Not long after the opposition with Mars, the Moon will trine Ceres, the Grain Mother, in Pisces. This connection with an aspect of the Mother foreshadows Ceres' key position in Wednesday's Full Moon. Use this time to listen to whatever intuitive messages the Mother might offer.

Officially, the Moon is void of course on Monday until she enters exuberant Sagittarius at 10:38pm EDT, making this a good day for business as usual, but not beginning new projects (if possible). While the Moon is in Scorpio, our attention is drawn to the depths. Pay attention to what's happening there; things are moving.

Moon into Libra: Walk in Beauty

The Moon steps into the Beauty Way of Libra this afternoon (6:31pm EDT). Her first aspect is a trine with Venus, newly in Gemini. The connection opens a flow of creative inspiration that may touch our relationships, our finances, our artistic endeavors, and our feelings––a vibrant opening to this Moon transit.

Overnight, the Libran Moon opposes Uranus in Aries, opening a focused and intense conversation on the balance between self and other, peaceful calm and driving action, refined loveliness and raw desire.

Overnight Friday, the Moon reaches her last aspect in Libra, a flowing trine with the Sun that offers a sense of harmony and confirmation, now that we've passed the challenge of the Half Moon square. This is the last of the Moon's classical aspects in Libra, opening her void-of-course time. Late Saturday morning, though, the Moon will trine the South Node as she sextiles the North Node, a greeting as well as foreshadowing of the Full Moon eclipse on the way.

Most of Saturday will find the Moon void of course, a time for business as usual, rather than beginning new ventures. The Moon steps into Scorpio's shadowy realm at 8:33pm EDT. While the Moon in in Libra, walk in beauty.

Moon into Virgo: Making and Mending

The Moon stepped briskly into practical, detail-oriented Virgo at 3:33pm today, and my own Virgo Moon has already kicked into gear. I've been so focused on the details of a swiftly-approaching move, I'm late getting the blog out!

The key lunar event during this transit through Virgo is the Waxing Half Moon which arrives Wednesday night at 10:10pm. This square between the Gemini Sun and Virgo Moon will test our resolve as New Moon intentions continue to unfold. Maybe what we wished for isn't appearing quite as we imagined, or more work is needed. Are we still committed?

As squares go, these two mutable signs are not likely to challenge each other too severely. Think of this more like Gemini and Virgo, Sun and Moon, comparing checklists and making sure everything needed is in place. Once we turn this corner, we're headed for the Full Moon and another eclipse, so best to be sure.

The Leo Moon's first aspects are edgy: An inconjunct angle-of-adjustment with Neptune in Pisces, and a square with Jupiter in Taurus. Right now, Neptune and Jupiter, both at 0 degrees, are flowing energy in sextile with each other to create a sensual, peaceful, dream. So what's up with this Moon challenge?

Cancer loves tradition, loves home, loves safety and security, loves being surrounded by family. All these are good things, and we can enjoy them, and long for them when they're missing from our loves. And yet ... what does "home" look like in times like these?

Today, the Moon opens with a flowing trine from visionary Neptune, followed by a trine to Chiron nearby, offering new images of home. This morning, as this aspect was underway, I dreamt of an older home with leaks, water running in rivulets across wooden floors as we tried to find where it was coming from. What shape are our homes in, the inner as well as the outer "home"? What attention is needed?
