Aries Moon Moving into Taurus

The Full Moon happens at 9:36pm EDT Friday in the very last degree of Aries, making this Full Moon the beginning of a void of course time! One more indication of the intensity of this fiery Full Moon: at the moment of opposition to the Sun and full illumination, the Aries Moon releases every bit of the energy she concentrated during the waxing phase, then she rests.

Having blazed up in full glory, the Moon goes to earth, retiring first into a reflective time-between-times before emerging calmly into Taurus at 10:29pm Friday.

Now the Moon wanes, sharing openly what was sown at the New Moon and nurtured during the waxing cycle. In the Northern Hemisphere, it's autumn, time of harvest. The Moon in Taurus loves the scent of woodsmoke and mulled cider, the feel of tree bark, the sound of leaves crunching underfoot and geese overhead, bright sky and sparkling water.

We have not forgotten our transformative journey, although its pace has slowed. Overnight, the Taurus Moon trines Pluto and Ceres in Capricorn (4:40am Saturday), Earth communicating with Earth about the change of seasons and wheel of time.

The Moon in Taurus opposes Mercury (6:36am) and Venus (3:07pm) in Scorpio, and the Sun enters Scorpio (8:35am), more signs of ongoing transformation. The patient, practical Taurus Moon checks in with Mercury and Venus as they transit through Scorpio's deep waters, making sure they stay grounded as they explore the shadowy depths.

The days leading up to the Aries Full Moon have been filled with intensity. The shift into rest and reflection at the moment the Moon is full may seem abrupt, and yet perfectly timed. At the last degree of Aries, we answer the call to adventure and take that leap. In Taurus, we land in a pile of leaves on a bed of moss. It's a new world, perhaps not quite as dangerous as we'd feared (or hoped?). We take a deep breath. We have time.
