Moon Transitioning Today

The Moon leaves her safe harbor in Cancer for the altogether more dramatic seas of Leo today, as Venus leads the way. Venus enters the sign of the Lion just before 5:00am EDT, immediately flowing energy in trine to Uranus and Jupiter in Aries ... rev your engines, as the planet of relationships, finances and creativity has joined the fiery outer planets of change.

While this is happening, the Moon remains behind in the middle degrees of Cancer, perhaps sending morning dreams carrying messages from the ancestors to help carry us through.

When the Moon reaches 28 degrees of Cancer, about 8:30pm EDT, she reaches the outer planet cluster. There, she forms the tip of a yod, with Ceres the Grain Mother and the Neptune-Uranus conjunction across the bottom sextiling each other. For the brief time she's there, the Cancer Moon becomes a point of focus, reminding us once again that memories from the deep past, and our traditions and tribes, can serve to keep us grounded in the midst of change, helping us bring the visions and mythic images of the outer planets home.

At 8:40pm EDT, the Moon goes void-of-course, where she remains until midnight ... a fitting time for the one who stayed home to tend the hearth to emerge in a glow of creativity and drama in the sign of Leo. Now she conjuncts Venus, adding the Moon's emotions and mystery to Venus' glamour and creativity. And as they both trine the Uranus-Jupiter conjunction, look for big, dramatic flashes of intuition. Definitely a night to keep a pen and notebook next to your bed.

We're still in the New Moon seed planting time, and energy abounds for creative problem solving and manifesting our dreams. The Leo Moon reenters the yod, now focusing on Pluto and Neptune-Chiron. If you haven't found the time to make some wishes, it's not too late. If your wishes are made, they are given roots as well as wings!
