The Moon sets herself alight in Aries tonight, joining Uranus the trickster revolutionary in a wild, exuberant, no-holds-barred dance. Those semisextiles to Chiron and Jupiter show this reborn Moon has not totally forgotten her mentors' lessons, but their connection now is more faint memory than firm guidance. And those rules are really more guidelines, aren't they?

In Aries, the Moon aligns with the side of the Pluto–Uranus square that's chanting "What do we want?" "Change!" "When do we want it?" "NOW!" During these next days, we connect with our sense of righteous anger, with a clear vision of what needs to happen, and a burning desire to make it so. Change is needed, and overdue. Aries power is the energy of birth, the new being bursting into life.

And yet, this fiery enthusiasm needs to be channeled or it can run amok, dissipating itself in meaningless action or violent destruction. Sunday morning, the Sun conjunct Mercury retrograde, bringing our conscious attention to Mercury's role now in checking precipitate action, in getting us to slow down and think things through.
