Waning Moon in Virgo

The Moon in Virgo is grounded, practical and ready to be of service. Today, the Moon interacts with energies of transformation and deep insight, giving us the chance to look at the shadowy depths of the unconscious in a down-to-earth, realistic way.

Early this morning, the Moon squares Mars in Sagittarius (4:45am EDT). As Mars pushes us into adventure, ready to embark for unknown places, the Virgo Moon asks whether we've packed our toothbrush. It's easy to poke fun at Virgo's attention to detail and tendency to anxiety, even as we know how much we need that wise guidance. Mars in Sagittarius could keep expanding into infinite possibilities without the Virgo Moon's steady grounding.

The Virgo Moon brings her practical analysis to a flowing trine with Pluto the phoenix (5:30am). Then, she sextiles Venus in Scorpio (5:40am) as Venus sextiles Pluto (9:37am).

Pluto is now in Capricorn, but rules Scorpio, and is ever the bringer of transformative change. Venus is retrograde in Scorpio, allowing us an in depth look at our relationships, finances and creativity. The Virgo Moon brings her analytical touch to this triangular communication.

Scorpio rules occult practice, among other things, making this flow of energy between Venus, Pluto and the Moon, a wonderful time for practical magic.

The Moon reaches a flowing sextile with the Sun in Scorpio at 3:16pm, one more link between grounded details and deep transformation. This sextile tells us we're reaching the end of this lunar cycle, and offers another window for insight and understanding.

Remember that this hinge of the year is excellent for divination; this Moon-Sun sextile could yield deeply insightful and practical advice for the time to come.
