The Moon sailed into visionary Aquarius in the early hours of this morning, beginning to show herself in the night sky again as she fills her sails with the energies flowing from the Sagittarian New Moon and eclipse. On this trip through Aquarius, the Moon will add Aquarian thinking-outside-the-box to the forces moving us toward transformation, while challenging the slower archetypes to get moving.

This morning, the Moon connected with Uranus the revolutionary trickster and Chiron the healing sage. Each of these outer-planet powerhouses are essential to these transformative times. We see all around us many things calling out for change, as we realize we ourselves are our greatest project.

The Aquarius Moon brings our attention to Venus and Pluto today, touching each with a jolt of semisextile lightning. These Moon aspects happen a few hours apart, alerting us to the fact that Venus and Pluto are quite close together now in Capricorn. In fact, Venus is now within orb of her conjunction with Pluto on Thursday––which is astrology jargon for saying it's close enough to pay attention.

Venus is the planet of relating, including in her purview our relationships with other people, our sense of esthetics (how we relate to form, color, sound, touch), and our sense of balance and fairness. Venus is also one of the money planets (the relationship of exchange) and a bringer of good fortune.

As she transits across relentless Pluto, we may feel transformational shifts in any Venus-influenced areas, and we may feel our larger alchemical work touched with a bit of grace and beauty.

Tuesday afternoon, the Moon and Sun reach their waxing sextile, a time when we may see the first glimmers of New Moon wishes and intentions emerging into the light. This evening, the Moon and Mars meet in an uncomfortable inconjunct: Mars in Virgo is slow and steady, and this Aquarius Moon wants to see big movements, big changes. Each has something to learn from the other if they listen.

Early Wednesday, the Moon flows in sextile with the North Node and trine with the South Node, offering a vision of where our life path is going. Wednesday morning, the Moon sextiles Mercury, reminding us that while our views of the world are changing (Mercury in Sagittarius), it's a good idea to reflect, reconsider, and rethink (Mercury retrograde).

This is the Moon's last aspect in Aquarius, opening a void of course period that lasts just over three hours. Interestingly, the Venus–Pluto conjunction comes exact during this void time, a sign, perhaps, to allow these two archetypes to carry on their creative alchemy without our active interference.

Thursday night's New Moon eclipse opened a new time of exuberance energy and generous grace. Now we need to figure out where and how to channel all that power, to create something meaningful. The Moon moves into Capricorn Saturday night, ready to take the helm and set a course into the world that awaits us.

In Capricorn, the Moon partners with Earth and Water planets to build strong foundations, while putting the brakes on Fire planets and asking Air planets to provide detailed schematics for those beautiful but potentially unworkable ideas. The Capricorn Moon focused on practical strategies to move forward, willing to work hard but only when the goal is clear.

Saturday night, the Moon squares off with Uranus the revolutionary, while flowing energy in sextile with Chiron the mentor and joining with grace-filled Venus. Meanwhile, Venus and Jupiter, the two planets of good fortune, form a flowing trine that showers good things on those who work steadily and responsibly.

The Moon unfurls all her sails to surge into Sagittarius on Thursday evening, pennants flying in a stiff cosmic wind as we head into a New Moon and Solar Eclipse.

If you've been feeling stuck, this could be the New Moon that cuts everything loose, boosting all of us into new orbits that might feel like whole new galaxies. If that sounds like too many mixed metaphors, well, it's that kind of Moon.
